Preparing you for the trip

For those who aren’t TEFL qualified don’t worry! The price includes extensive training through our 120 Hour Online TEFL Course, which provides everything you need to know about TEFL plus an expert tutor who will support you throughout your studies. You’ll also get a huge confidence boost with our 20 hour classroom course in China before you to start teaching.

Your orientation

When you arrive in China you’ll be met by the in-country team ImmerQi who will escort you to your accommodation for orientation. Throughout this period you will be fully enrolled onto the internship with sessions on Chinese culture, teaching techniques and everything else you need to prepare you for the months ahead. You will also have the chance to socialise with other teachers, explore and even spruce up on the basics of Mandarin!

Your teaching experience

The internship is designed to equip you with valuable teaching experience whilst receiving on-going support from your in-country team. You will experience the real China first-hand and acquire essential skills for life. You will have plenty of time to explore China as well as the opportunity and ImmerQi will give you help and advice on places to go, see and do!

At the end of the internship you will have a TEFL qualification from an accredited provider for life as well as a certificate detailing your completed internship – an essential addition to your resume.

Extra things to budget for

• Flights + Insurance
• Visa costs – approximately £100 for a 6 month business visa
• Visa administration fee of Approximately £190 (full instructions and assistance will be provided by ImmerQi)
• Police check costs – approximately £45 for an ACRO in the UK

Eligibility

Candidates must:

• Be aged between 18-45
• Hold a passport from either the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
• Be fluent in English
• Have completed high school / secondary school
• Be ready for an adventure teaching English abroad
